Elmo's is a bustling family-friendly old-fashioned diner right in
the Carr Mill Mall. I take customers there often, especially when we
have "kids-in-tow". The food is good and the service is
efficient. Most important, there are crayons and line drawings for
the children to color. The resulting masterpieces are displayed
prominently for other young patrons of the arts to see.
Elmo's serves a special variant of Chapel Hill Bar-BQ made with
pulled chicken. It comes with red cabbage cold slaw. Go easy on the
Bar-BQ sauce -- it's hot.
Sunday brunch at Elmo's is a Carrboro tradition. Go early -- it's
popular.
